Jewelry Care Q&A
I have a silver bracelet with turquoise stones. What’s the best way to clean and polish it?
Polish the silver part of the jewelry with Wright’s Silver Cream or Anti-Tarnish Silver Polish. If any gets on the turquoise, simply rinse it away. Clean the turquoise with a clean, soft cloth only.
I have a gold ring with an opal stone. How should I clean it?
Never immerse opal in any cleaner. Opals contain up to 10 percent and their color and sparkle are best maintained by a periodic soaking in distilled water.
How should I clean my gold watch?
Swish the gold watchband in Wright’s Jewelry Care, taking care not to get the watch wet. Rinse well (again, don’t wet the watch) and dry.
Can I clean stringed necklaces with Wright’s Jewelry Care?
Do not use any liquid cleaners; these may eventually rot the string.
What about ultrasonic cleaning machines?
These machines vibrate a cleaning solution around your jewelry and are not any more effective than gently agitating jewelry in Wright’s Jewelry Care. If you have an ultrasonic cleaner, Wright’s Jewelry Care can be used as the cleaning solution.
What is the environmental impact of your polishes?
All Wright’s products are formulated for low environmental impact. You will find that you need to use only a small amount of our polishes, decreasing the impact even further.
Are your products dangerous? Why are they marked “Keep out of reach of children?”
This is simply a general warning. All cleaning products should be kept away from children, regardless of their ingredients. Wright’s products are not toxic, but they should not be ingested or come in contact with the eyes.
